How to Open Nfo Files

Nfo files can be difficult to open if tried directly by double clicking on the file. Windows defaults trying to open the file as a system file or help file. Mac will also have difficulty. Follow the easy steps in this article to open a nfo file.

Instructions

1.      Step 1

    Turn on your computer and go to the Windows or Mac My computer program. Using the My Computer program, find the nfo file you want to open.

2.      Step 2

    Using your mouse, click the right button on the file name. Once you right click a menu will appear if you properly right clicked over the file name.

3.      Step 3

    In windows, choose the "open with" option on the menu that pops up after you right click. Move the mouse to the right and select the program "notepad". Notepad will open the file and allow you to see all the text contained in the nfo file. On a Mac, follow the same procedure, but choose the TextEdit program.
