How to Use Your Desktop as a CCTV

Use your PC as a CCTV without spending a penny.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

·       Pc (Windows XP or Vista)

·       Any Logitech Webcam

1.      Step 1

    Assuming that you own any Logitech webcam, download the driver from logitech.com for you logitech webcam.It is better if you use the driver from the web (They are daily updated) rather than the one provide in the CD.

2.      Step 2

    2.Once installed the driver on your computer, you can start video recording with your webcam.

3.      Step 3

    3. Within "Recording option" you can set you webcam to record 24/7.

4.      Step 4

    4.Select motion detection, thereby you will avoid to record while nothing is happening/moving in your house and save memory.

5.      Step 5

    5.Select how long you want to record once motion detection is activated and motion detection sensibility & the quality of the image.

6.      Step 6

    Before leaving your home minimize the program and assuming that you are the administrator an is password protected i would suggest to have an extra account in your PC thereby you can switch users (but not log off) so nobody can see what is going on in your account.If nothing happened after 5/7 days delete all old videos to free some space in your PC's memory.
